This morning I went for a ride that took me from Barrack Point, past the entrance to Lake Illawarra, and along the southern shores of the lake to Oak Flats. I prefer this cycle path to others in the northern Illawarra as is is not that busy. The cycle path is relatively clear of bike and pedestrian traffic. There are many photographic opportunities.  Back in June I rode along the same route and like today I took quite a few photographs. I have created two galleries independent of this post so that you can check out the scenery, flora and fauna of the route.

I photographed seven or more differing bird species, surfers, fishermen, landscapes, breaking waves, people and the path itself. The path I took was approximately 10 kilometres in length. I guess I rode about 20 kilometres in all. Not a bad ride, albeit windy at times, so I took it easy, enjoyed the view and greeted fellow travelers along the way.

The cycle path is quite remarkable actually and the photographs below should give you an idea of how splendid is the journey.
