I travelled from Shanghai to Nanjing yesterday. Crystal, our family friend, assisted me with the ticket purchase. I needed to produce my passport as I purchased the ticket. Your name and passport number is printed on the ticket. The last two numbers are not included however it is an indication of how things differ from one country to another.
We took a high speed rail service from Shanghai Hongqiao rail station to the Nanjing South rail station. The distance is a little over 300 kilometres and the journey just over one hour. At times the train was travelling at 304 kilometres per hour. It was remarkable.
Each station was massive and easy to navigate. I have added a few photographs taken at Shanghai Hongqiao below. I believe the photographs will tell the story better than I at the moment.
