The view from Block 254 << 15/28: North < > Looking due north from the dining room window. The HDB block opposite is a mirror image of Block 254. The blocks on the right have recently been upgraded. The four storey blocks lower right are known as 'walk-ups' since they do not have a lift. Many HDB flats have lifts that only open out on to the 6th and 11th floor. If you live on an intervening floor you take the lift and then either walk up or down the stairs to your floor. Notice the recreation ground with fitness equipment, childrens' playground and a street soccer pitch. Lots of activity here when the day cools down.
