Bintan, Indonesia, May 2001.

During May 2001 my good mate Evan paid a visit to Singapore and we took the chnace to take a trip to Bintan. During the trip we went to the island's main town, Tanjung Pinang. There were a large number of old Australian Holden cars on the road, inparticular the HQ model. They were often used as taxis and they were always full

The bus ride to Tanjung Pinang was as hairy as hell with the driver frequently crossing the centre lines on crests and corners when overtaking. Shao Ping and I went to Bintan on two other occasions. Check out those photographs here: February 2001 | January 2002 |
