Birds in the garden

Siva has linked to this page via his excellent and informative blog, Otterman speaks... so I thought I better add some text to this page. All of these birds were photographed from our garden here in the Illawarra, NSW. The cockatoos are not too welcome as they make it difficult for the other birds and they have a habit of chewing the rubber seals from around solar hot water system on the roof.
Our home is surrounded by a reasonable population of trees including eucalyptus, pine, maple and banksia varieties. I have added an additional gallery of birds and other creatures recently. My first gallery of garden flora and fauna is worth a look too.

The first photograph is actually an eucalyptus tree in our front yard. All of the other photographs were taken from various points in our back yard. Some of the cockatoos are in our neighbour's trees or on their roof. I have photographed king parrots as well however I felt the photgraphs I had taken of the king parrots at my friend's place were much better. I also managed to photograph some birds at Lake Illawarra as well.
