Uttamayanmuni Temple

The Uttamayanmuni Buddhist Temple was located near our HDB flat in Choa Chu Kang in Singapore. Sometimes Shao Ping and I would take a walk to the temple to slow down a little and reflect. It is an interesting temple that follows the Theravada tradition. It has a statue of the four faced Buddha. The decorations on the temple are quite exquisite.

The temple is almost completely surrounded by the HDB Blocks of Choa Chu Kang. There is a private condominium located on one side.

Just outside the temple is a small cleared area. There were two lonely statues in the clearing together with some motor bikes that would have been stolen ages ago if they were back in my home town of Wollongong, Australia. If something anywhere in Wollongong is not locked up then the likelihood of it being stolen is almost certainly 100%. The little red motor scooter in the photograph below shows exactly how the tropical vegetation will reclaim the earth if let to its own devices.
